Open days to the Planet #4

New Bowing House – Centre for Planetary Relations · Odemira

As autumn begins, New Bowing House again opens its doors to the community for the 4th edition of the Open Days to the Planet. Two days of sharing and discovery, where music, cinema, food, words and gestures converge to celebrate diversity and imagine possible futures.

Through cooking workshops, small craft sessions, books, concerts, Bollywood cinema, tai chi and vocal journey, we shape a meeting place for generations and cultures — infused with simplicity, joy and mutual curiosity. An open invitation to everyone: residents, visitors, friends or the simply curious. There is always room for one more.

New Bowing – Centre for Planetary Relations is a space of shelter, creation and encounter, open to all, born from the “New Bowing” project. Based in Odemira, in the former Student Centre, it hosts artistic activities that foster dialogue between cultures and inspire new ways of living together.

Bollywood Cinema
Invicto
A film by Satyajit Ray

“O Invicto”, Satyajit Ray’s second film and winner of the Golden Lion in Venice, is the central chapter of the celebrated “Triologia de Apu”, which follows the protagonist from childhood to adulthood.

In this episode, Apu’s life unfolds between Benares, his native village, and Calcutta, in a journey marked by separation from his mother and a thirst for knowledge.

With music by Ravi Shankar, this is Ray’s great film about the maternal figure, also bringing forth the key themes of his work: the passage from rural life to the city, growth, and learning.
