OMIRI, a project by Vasco Ribeiro Casais, reinvents Portuguese oral tradition music for the 21st century. In this concert, the musician presents audiovisual recordings made in Bordeira and nearby villages, breathing new life into the voices, dances and sounds captured in the territory. These projected landscapes become stage partners, in dialogue with electronics, traditional instruments, and live improvisation.
OMIRI thus builds a contemporary dance where collective memory echoes in a current language, transforming the region's intangible heritage into a vibrant and shared performance. A tribute to local communities, celebrated as protagonists of an artistic creation that connects the past to the future.
