Tuesdays — 7:00 PM · 8:30 PM
Tablistas of Odemira is a participatory and artistic creation lab — bringing together people of different ages and backgrounds around the sonic tradition of India.
Led by Inderjeet Singh, a musician from Haryana (India) now living in Odemira, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to play the tablas — traditional Indian percussion instruments — through regular sessions that also explore the Indian harmonium and vocal scales. These gatherings offer a hands-on, collective approach to music-making, open to beginners and those wishing to deepen their knowledge of this musical language.
This activity takes place at New Bowing House – Centre for Planetary Relations. It is part of the “Person” strand of the New Bowing project, which seeks to strengthen relationships between local and migrant communities by creating informal spaces for sharing, collaboration, and mutual support.
